When we play, anything is possible: the floor is made of lava, objects fly through the air, and everyday things take on a completely new meaning. The stool becomes a raft, a bridge, a house, a tower. It can be upside down, lying on its side, standing… From an almost infinite selection of possibilities, new worlds emerge through play, each with its own rules, constantly changing, expanding, or being discarded.
But how do we transition from one game to another? Who decides what happens next?
Three dancers enter into a “game within a game” to explore rules, spaces, and choices that come from each of their worlds of play. They destroy one to build and explore another. “Spiel im Spiel” is a playful, humourous, and touching dance show.
