features strong ritual elements, full of characteristics and sounds belonging to a relatively unknown area of Southern Africa that was very important for the early developmnt of humankind.
As a typical Magnet Theatre show, the performance will be focused on the body and its expressive and creative capabilities to transform and evoke different creatures, places and times.
Rocks will be rhythm, weight, the healing of the body; together with other musical instruments, they are a fundamental element and source of rhythm. The colour shades are inspired by the rock art in Cederberg: here, the colours were created with stones and clay, ground and mixed with eggs and water and finally used on rock walls in caves, hand-painted or painted using brushes made of animal hair.
The paintings of the animals are the starting point for the physical language and choregraphy of the performance, and the stage objects selected remind of the animals portrayed in the rock art paintings, reproduced with lights and projected shadows.duration: 40’
The show is staged within the international festival of theatre and culture for early years Visioni di futuro, visioni di teatro (Bologna, 28th February - 8th March, 2020).
